Cloud Atlas

" Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future. "

Do you belief in love, karma, destiny, and reincarnation?
If you do, i recommended you to please watch Cloud Atlas.
This movie is again, based from a 2004 novel by author David Mitchell.
The novel consist of 6 different stories, but connected to one another:
  1. The Pacific Journal of Adam Ewing
  2. Letters from Zedelghem
  3. Half-Lives: The First Luisa Rey Mystery
  4. The Ghastly Ordeal of Timothy Cavendish
  5. An Orison of Sonmi~451
  6. Sloosha's Crossin' an' Ev'rythin' After
You can read more detail of the novel and each story from wikipedia,
here is the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_Atlas_(novel)

I just watched the movie a few days ago, at the last day of it's screening in Jakarta.
I feel contented that i compel more than anything for myself and my love to watch it as a must that day.
Despite the rain, the traffic, and the distance to go to an unknown studio we never been visit before.
Far far away in middle of nowhere, Metropole Cikini.

I've never seen anything like that before.
So complex, but connected, also beautiful and meaning full at the same time.
It was so different that people might think it will be difficult to digest and maybe boring.
But it is actually a fun movie, you can easily understand it, and enjoy it along the way to the end.
Really a must watch if you looking for something more, and already tired with the same regular Hollywood movies.

A movie from collaboration work of the maker of the very famous Matrix Trilogy, the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer.
You can feel the Matrix atmosphere in this movie at some action sci-fi future scene.
I think the movie portrayed the novel in a very good way.
Combining and mash up all the six stories, with all the characters, but still be a one whole story that bound.
And made each great cast playing many different role, each one different role and different character in each story.
It is quite fun, guessing all along the movie, who is that, or waiting when will the cast appear, and who he/she will be.
So much great talents playing in this movie, my all time favorite Tom Hanks, along with Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, and many more.
The transition between one story to another story was smooth and good, it feels like flowing.
The visual also very beautiful, displaying the old and the future of our world.
The 3D effects, especially at the scenery is gorgeous.

After watching it, i really wonder what will it be if i read the book.
Will i have so much fun and understanding reading it?
Will i know that the character in one story is the reincarnation of the other character in other story?
It was easy to know in the movie because you can see the same actor playing different role.
But how can i understand that i the book only in word and without any picture?
I still can not wrap my head around that marvelous idea of a book in such a complicated plot.
I haven't found the book here, so maybe, i will buy it when i found one.

I, myself, is a true believer of love, true love and soulmate, as much as i believe in destiny, karma and reincarnation.
This movie remind me to always do good not only for myself, but for other also, it will bring you good karma. Not only for this life, but also for your next life, or just instead for you descendant sake.
If that is your destiny, than you will get there no matter what your path is, how long you have to go or how much time you take it, hard and easy, sad and joy, you will end up fulfilling your destiny.
And one true love in the past, will forever be a true love in another life, because he/she is your true soulmate.

" Fear. Belief. Love. Phenomena that determined the course of our lives. These forces begin long before we are born and continue after we perish. "

We've Got Tonight

"We've Got Tonight" (originally titled "We've Got Tonite") is a song written by American Bob Seger, from his 1978 album Stranger in Town.
But i personally like the version in 1983, country-pop star Kenny Rogers recorded the song as a duet with pop star Sheena Easton.
I choose this song because recently i heard it on Glee and i felt that this song is like a match made in heaven with my old work. Please listen to this song while you read.

Malam itu...

aku melihat dirimu dari kejauhan..
aku jalan perlahan.. aku hampiri dirimu..

kamu duduk sendirian..
aku bertanya : "bolehkah aku duduk di sini?"
kamu diam, tak mejawab, hanya bergeser memberikanku ruang..

aku bertanya : "bolehkah aku mendekat?"

kamu diam, tak menjawab, hanya menyerahkan pundakmu padaku..

aku bertanya : "boleh aku memelukmu?
kamu diam, tak menjawab, hanya bergerak memutar tubuhmu, saat aku mendekapmu..

aku bertanya : “boleh aku menciummu?
kamu diam, tak menjawab, hanya pasrah saat bibirku menyentuh pipimu..
perlahan, ku bergerak, dari pipi, kamu tahu kemana tujuanku, tapi kamu tak menghentikanku..
ku kecup bibirmu, kamu diam..
ku tatap wajahmu, ku tatap matamu, matamu balas menatapku..
ku kecup lagi, lembut, dan lebih lama..
kau diam, kemudian membalas kecupanku..
